About the project

With the project In the Lap of Cultural and Natural Heritage the CCC Institute together with its partners (Sotočje Medvode public institute, BB BIO.Si and Pr’ Lenart Homestead) won the LAS za mesto in vas tender co-funded by the Slovenian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
The House on the Hill presents a small part of the In the Lap of Cultural and Natural Heritage project. The House on the Hill has been carried out for the sixth year now. Our goal is dissemination in time and space of modern art which not only makes part of cultural heritage, but also of natural beauties in the surroundings of Ljubljana.

The exhibition is designed so that the works of artists are intertwined. The main exhibit is MI:ZA. The work was contributed by more than 70 individuals from ten different countries. The work MI:ZA connects artists with the people of our village, our municipality, the Ljubljana region and also Slovenia, Europe, our Earth, so that we can reach the One that is the same above all of us.

The word MIZA (TABLE) consists of two parts: from the syllable MI (WE), which means us – a crowd of people, and the syllable ZA (FOR), which means that we are together for something; but also that we are for something; that we are for the thing. Thus, the term MIZA is a symbol that denotes an object/facility, behind which various groups and larger or smaller communities gather. In our case, we artists set out to create together with the awareness that the path can also be risky, because we are aware that we live in a time when any partnerships diverge very quickly, as time is not conducive to deepening, but imposes wild effects and speed. which decomposes rather than connects. WE, on the other hand, are FOR the realization of compassionate coexistence of sensitive individuals. The table consists of individual planks, which are also woodcuts. Woodcuts and table contents will guide the exhibitions of all exhibition spaces. The table with a table base was made by Miran Pešič.

In addition to the main space where the table will be exhibited, the exhibition will also be in the basement of the house, the barn and the basement of the barn. The exhibition in these spaces was designed by: Andreja Džakušič, Aleksandra Saška Gruden, Keiko Miyazaki, Mojca Senegačnik and Zvonka T Simčič.
